Kande viharaya Temple
This temple got its name “Kande Viharaya” ( temple on the hill), because it is located at a top of a hill. Kande Viharaya Temple was established in year 1734 and became the regional Buddhist center. The Samadhi Buddha statue was constructed in the recent past and can be visible from a long distance. New Image House is located under this statue and depicts many Jathaka stories and incidents related to the life of Load Buddha. you can see tallest Sitting Buddha statue in the world (Bhoomisparsha mudra) took place on 10th November 2012.

River Boat Trip
Bentota River - The Bentota lagoon scattered with small islands and natural landscape provides tangled mangrove swamps. The boat men will meander through the islets and mangrove swamps located haphazardly on the river. Your sight will be mysterious and beautiful at once, as you cruise through shaded waters beneath huge roots. The longer you need to explore, the further upriver you want to cruise, the more unspoiled the scenery becomes. Aquatic birds-herons, cormorants & colorful kingfishers and water monitors & crocodiles can be seen during your safari.

Madhu River - Balapitiya Madu River (Madu Ganga) Safari is another beautiful place to do boat safaris due to picturesque landscapes, beautiful wildlife with many different species of birds, echo system and the very high diversity. Although inhabitants claim that there are about 64 small islands in Madu ganga there are only 15 true islands which are surrounded by water throughout the year.

Turtle Hatchery
Where you can see several species of turtles, specially the hawksbill, are endangered. Most vulnerable of all are their eggs, which are left uncovered on beaches all around the coast. The good will of Kosgoda area fishermen, who brings these eggs gratis to the hatchery, has led to the hatching and release of 100,000 young turtles in only two years since the hatchery opened. An endowment by the Hasselblad Estate was responsible for the establishment of this hatchery.

Moonstone mines
Sri Lanka is famous for its precious gems and moonstone. Moonstones belong in the semi-precious category but are an important component of the gem business. Meetiyagoda, located between Ambalangoda and Hikkaduwa, is one of the few places where they are found in such high concentrations. It is believed by the villagers that this piece of land, around an acre in extent, is blessed by the moon. The moonstone is grey and feels cool and smooth to the touch when polished and has a glow like that of the moon. The finest are bluish in color and there are quite a few of them in these mines. At Meetiyagoda, you can see or even go down into the deep, narrow shafts from which the stones are mined. The small visitor centre will provide information related to this stone while the large shop on the premises sells moonstones as well as other stone.

Mask Factory
Ambalangoda, a town famous for its mask makers. These colorful masks were used in demon exorcising' ceremonies in the past and some of these rituals are still practiced by few even now. Some of these masks are quite ferocious and wild, however they are very well made and fairly inexpensive to purchase should you want to take presents back for those who are not so superstitious friends. The mask museum actually shows you how the masks are used to rid evil spirits.

After Lunch proceed to the Heritage city of Galle.

Galle Dutch Fort ( UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE )
For centuries Galle has stood strong against invasions - from colonial powers and nature’s volatile outbursts. The famous Dutch Fort was first built by the Portuguese, fortified by the Dutch and preserved by the British. Battered daily for over 400 years by the ocean it even survived the onslaught of a tsunami and is enjoyed today by residents and visitors alike. The colonial architecture of the walled city too has resisted the advance of modernity and holds tightly to its past glory.

After sightseeing a Galle, drive back to the Hotel.
